Prints and book illustrations (primarily etchings, lithographs, and wood engravings) by predominately English artists with American, French, and German works also represented. The collection spans the 18th - 19th centuries. there are some materials from the first half of the 20th century. Robert Scheibel was the former head of the journalism department at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, California.

Irish born lithographer, portraitist and caricaturist, Doyle worked in London as a portrait lithographer and eventually turned to political caricature. His plates were issued by the publisher, Thomas M. McLean, in volume form both in 1841 and 1844. Doyle used the pseudonym H.B. to sign most of his works.
